A person’s Shift Type can be updated at any time, if needed. For instance, an individual may take leave and return to the site at a later date. Shift changes are considered ad-hoc bookings.
The Change Shift Type modal allows you to modify a person’s shift, either from their base roster or for individuals not assigned to a roster (e.g., site visitors or short-term contractors).
Single Shift Change
The Single Shift Change option is used when the shift type remains the same for the entire duration of the ad-hoc booking. For example, if a person is on Annual Leave for 5 consecutive days or when only one shift needs to be updated.
To make a single shift change:
- In the Roster grid (either from the Rosters page or a person’s Profile > Roster tab), left-click on the first date when the shift change is needed.
- Stay on the Single Shift tab and enter the following details:
- From: The first date of the new shift type.
- To: The last date of the new shift type.
- Single Shift Type: Select the new shift type for all dates in the range (e.g., AL = Annual Leave).
- Notes: Add any relevant information to be recorded.
- Site Port Override: If the person is traveling to or from a different site (e.g., if they are assigned to a site other than their default).
- Home Port Override: If the person is flying from a different port (e.g., they typically fly out of Perth but will be flying from Adelaide instead).
- Workgroup Override: If the person will be working in a different workgroup during this period.
Multi Shift Change
The Multi Shift Change option is used when multiple different shift types are required. For example, if a person is flying out early and taking 3 days of annual leave, the shift types could be:
- First shift change would become: Fly Out PM
- Second - Fourth shift changes would become: Annual Leave (AL)
To make a multi-shift change:
- In the Roster grid (either from the Rosters page or a person’s Profile > Roster tab), left-click on the first date when the shift change is needed.
- Toggle to the Multi Shift tab and enter the following details:
- From: The first date requiring a new shift type.
- To: The last date requiring a new shift type.
- Shift Type: Select the new shift type (e.g., AL = Annual Leave). Click the arrow to the right to add additional new shift type fields.
- Travel Required: Add this if there’s travel at the start (e.g., fly out).
- Notes: Include any relevant information.
- Site Port Override: If traveling to or from a different site.
- Home Port Override: If traveling from a different port than usual.
- Workgroup Override: If working in a different workgroup during this period.
