Shift Types are used to define what a person is doing on a day e.g. Dayshift, R&R, Fly In AM, Leave etc.
Shift Types drive information depending on how they have been configured e.g. if a flight or accommodation is required or hours working for reporting on exposure hours etc.
Shift Type configuration
Field | Description |
Name | The name of the shift type (e.g. Dayshift) |
Code | The abbreviated code for shift type (e.g. DS) max 3 characters |
Exposure Hours | Used for reporting and to calculate OHS frequency rates |
Colour | A visual representation of the shift type - must use HTML colour codes |
Text Colour | A visual representation of the shift type text - #000000 = black / #FFFFFF = white |
Onsite / Offsite | Determines if they appear on the site evacuation report |
Dayshift / Nightshift / No Work | Often used to assign rooms so that all nightshift workers are grouped together as opposed to scattered amongst dayshift workers |
Leave | Pulls through to the 'People on Leave' row on the Resource Planning page |
Site Port Room Required | If a room is required onsite for the worker then this checkbox will be selected |
Home Port Room Required | If a room is required at the workers Home Port then this checkbox will be selected |
Crib / Meal | Not currently in use |
Drive In / Drive Out | Will appear as an arrival or a departure on various reports/pages |
Incoming Flight Required / Outgoing Flight Required | Will appear as an arrival or a departure on various reports/pages with the requirement of a flight. The system will look for available flights by mapping the ports and flights for the person. |
AM/PM | Is used by the system to map flight requirement to the available flights |
Equipment | If Roster is associated with an equipment then it can map here |
How to add a shift type
- Login as System Administrator
- Navigate to Settings > Rosters > Shift Types
- Click 'Add Shift Types' button
- Complete mandatory fields and configure as required
- Click 'Save' button
