The Build process allows an incremental matching of a person's room/flight requirement with available flights and rooms.
There are three types of builds that happen in PeopleTray:
- Roster Build: Configure a roster.
- Roster master table build: When rosters are assigned to people and when roster changes are made.
- Flight and Room booking builds: From Roster, Rooms and Flights pages to book flights and rooms based on the Master Roster Table.
When a person is assigned a roster, the system updates the Master Roster Table so that, for each day of the person’s Roster date ranges, the persons Base Roster shift types are calculated and stored. Once stored all other functionality works directly off the Master Roster Table, as a ‘Source of Truth’ of the shift types and associated room and flight requirements.
The Master Roster Table includes:
- Shift Type
- Room requirement
- Room booking status
- Flight requirement
- Flight booking status
- Equipment linked to the shift type
When a Roster is assigned to a person, the Master Roster Table calculates the Shift Type based on the Roster assigned to the person, and the Seed date of that Roster.
The Build process can prioritize certain Rosters and Travel Groups ahead of others allowing control over who is allocated limited seats and rooms on a busy site.
Rooms can also be allocated according to their Sequence allowing camps to increase occupancy rates and improve room utilisation.
A person's room/flight requirement originates from the shift types on their Person > Rosters Tabs. For more information about Shift Types please see here.
Shift Type | Flight Requirement | Room Requirement |
