The Boarding and Moteling options affect the booking of Casual Rooms only.
Permanent Single and Permanent Shared rooms use direct booking logic.
Permanent Room Groups use an algorithm designed for optimum Permanent Room Group bookings.
Boarding Algorithm
PeopleTray provides a high level of administrator control over the booking logic via:
- Rooms can be assigned a sequence number. This determines the order in which rooms are assigned people during the build process.
- Roster and Travel Group priority settings. This determine the order in which people are booked.
Working together, Room Sequence numbers and Roster/Travel Group priorities provide a high level of control over the rooms booking process.
The boarding algorithm, while achieving a high level of room utilisation, should result in people being more consistently booked into the same room for each swing.
Moteling
The PeopleTray Moteling algorithm is unconstrained by Roster Priorities, or the goal of minimising room changes between swings. Hence, it achieves higher room utilisation during period of high accommodation demand.
Permanent Single Rooms, Permanent Shared Rooms
Visitors are assigned directly to their assigned rooms.
Room Groups
Room Groups use an expert algorithm to minimise room changes mid swing, while maximising room utilisation. For example:
Three people, each on a 2 week on, 1 week off roster with each roster staggered by 1 week
Room group consisting of 2 rooms.
