System Administrators can create Customised Homepages in TeamTray. These Customised Homepages can be assigned to all users, or they can be restricted to certain users by linking them to Custom User Roles.
Example of a Custom Homepage:
You can view the Classic Homepage layout by clicking the ‘View classic’ button in the top right hand corner.
Configuring a new Custom Homepage
- As a System Administrator, go to Settings > Custom Homepages > Custom Homepage > Add Homepage Configuration.
- Enter the Name and Description for the new Custom Homepage.
- If you tick the Default option, this Custom Homepage will be displayed for all users, unless the user has another Homepage linked to them via a Custom User Role.
Only one Custom Homepage can be set as the Default.
In most situations, one Custom Homepage can be utilised for all users. This is due to the fact that Custom Homepages automatically adhere to the same permissions that govern the left menu. If a button isn't visible in the left menu based on a user's settings, it won't appear as a button on that user's custom homepage either.
Once you have added a new Custom Homepage, click the cog icon to configure the settings.
Configuration Options
- In the Homepage Configuration screen, click the cog icon alongside the Custom Homepage you wish to configure:
- Select the required Custom Homepage options:
Show Fact Boxes
Displays the fact boxes at the top of the page. For instance, Readers can view the number of Actions assigned to them and the status of their Compliance documents. Meanwhile, Editors and Administrators see fact boxes relevant to their teams, such as the SMS messages sent and received.
Minimise Left Menu
This option collapses the left menu. To expand the menu click the > arrow at the button of the menu bar.
Show Course Calendar
Displays a calendar of scheduled courses that users can request to book for themselves.
Show Flight Calendar
Displays all upcoming scheduled flights.
Show Calendar Button
Displays the user's personal calendar, which is the same as clicking the Calendar button at the bottom of the left menu. The calendar page will show the user's actions, roster shift type for each day, as well as room and flight bookings.
Show Workflow Buttons
Displays the workflow buttons on the second row. These buttons mirror the options found under 'Submit New…' in the left menu.
Note: To configure the order of ‘Submit New…’ buttons, go to Settings > Customise Homepage > Workflow Menu.
Note: If you have sub folders in the Workflow Menu, access to the sub folders is via a ‘More...’ button. For this to display, you must set the Workflow Tree Menu to 'Yes' in Settings > Account Settings > Account Options.
You can add icons to the Workflow Menu buttons. To do so, go to Settings > Workflow Admin > Configure Workflow > Workflow Types > Configuration tab.

Show SMS Batch Button
If the user has access to send batch SMS messages, the 'Send SMS' button will provide quick access to this feature.
Expand Grids
This feature expands any lists on the person’s homepage.
The TeamTray homepage showcases lists of items assigned to the user. Each list will dynamically indicate if there are one or more available items.
The possible lists include:
- Procedures: Assigned to the person through their Work Role settings, allowing quick access to relevant procedure documents. An alert will indicate any documents that the user has not yet opened.
- My Compliances: Displays compliance document requirements based on the person's Work Role(s), including alerts for expired or missing documents.
- My Actions: Shows a list of Open Actions assigned to the user, with alerts for Due and Overdue actions.
- My Journeys: Displays any open road journeys associated with the user.
- My Job Cards: Lists Job Cards assigned to the person, with alerts for any overdue Job Cards.
- My Travel Requests: Displays Travel Requests where the user is the submitter.

Linking to Custom User Roles
To easily assign the Custom Homepage to all users, set it as the default. (On the grid, click the left edit button and check the Default option.) Only one Custom Homepage can be set as the default.
If no Custom Homepage is designated as the default, all users will see the Classic Homepage unless they are assigned a Custom Homepage linked to them through a Custom User Role.
To set up a Custom User Role: Navigate to Settings > Manage Users > Custom User Roles.
To assign a Custom User Role to a User: Open the User's Profile, then go to the 'Product Settings' tab, followed by the 'Custom User Roles' tab.
To link a Custom Homepage to one or more Custom User Roles: Go to the Custom Homepage configuration settings and start typing the required Custom User Roles:
How Many Custom Homepages Do We Need?
For some customers, a single Custom Homepage set as the Default may be sufficient to meet the needs of all users. This is because Custom Homepages dynamically adapt based on Product and User settings, including the Submit New… menu buttons and Workflow List buttons.
Other navigation buttons will only appear for a user if they have access to them through their User Role and Custom User Role settings.
That said, you can setup as many Custom Homepages as needed.
