Shift Types define the activities or status of an individual on a given day (e.g., Dayshift, R&R, Fly In AM, Leave, etc.). They help manage various operational aspects by determining whether specific resources, such as flights or accommodation, are required and contribute to reports like exposure hours.
Shift Type configuration
Field | Description |
Name | The name of the shift type (e.g., Dayshift). |
Code | A short, abbreviated code for the shift type (e.g., DS) — max 3 characters. |
Exposure Hours | Used for reporting and calculating OHS frequency rates. |
Colour | The visual colour representation of the shift type, using HTML colour codes. |
Text Colour | The text colour associated with the shift type. E.g., #000000 (black) or #FFFFFF (white). |
Onsite / Offsite | Determines whether the shift type appears on the site evacuation report. |
Dayshift / Nightshift / No Work | Often used to group workers by shift type, such as clustering nightshift workers together. |
Leave | Automatically appears in the "People on Leave" section on the Resource Planning page. |
Site Port Room Required | Indicates whether a room is required at the site for the worker. |
Home Port Room Required | Indicates if a room is required at the worker’s home port. |
Crib / Meal | Indicates that the worker requires a packed crib or meal and is included on the Crib Export on the Arrive/Depart page. |
Drive In / Drive Out | Displays as an arrival or departure in various reports/pages. |
Incoming Flight Required / Outgoing Flight Required | Tracks flight requirements for arrivals and departures by mapping ports and available flights. |
AM / PM | Used to align flight requirements with available flight times. |
Equipment | Links to equipment if the roster is associated with any. |
How to add a shift type
- Log in as a System Administrator.
- Navigate to Settings > Rosters > Shift Types.
- Click the 'Add Shift Types' button.
- Fill in the mandatory fields and configure the shift type as needed.
- Click the 'Save' button.
